In the year 804, a young Japanese monk, Kukai, arrives at the court of the Chinese Emperor to perform an exorcism. The ruler has fallen into a strange state and has not closed his eyes for a week. But the monk does not have time to help - the emperor emits a spirit right in front of his eyes. Kukai feels the presence of a cat in the palace, and soon he and his new acquaintance, the imperial clerk Bo Juyi, will have to investigate a chain of terrible events connected with the demonic black cat.

The 16th century. There is a civil war in Japan. A poor potter gets a chance to make some money - his pots are selling surprisingly well, and the amazed artisan is clutching unprecedented silver coins in his fist. Earnings cause excitement, which quickly turns into obsession.

The child kidnapper, the hideous, evil dwarf hunchback Rumpelstiltskin has lain at the bottom of the sea, cursed by a good sorceress, from the 15th century to the present day. He, turned into a greenish stone, is bought in an antique store by the widow of a policeman killed by a bandit, who is left alone with her little son. The saleswoman, who looks like a witch, says that the stone fulfills wishes. Rumpelstiltskin fulfills the woman's wish and revives her husband. But the fulfillment of the wish has broken the spell and the dwarf wishes for payment - her child...

A samurai comes to a certain Japanese town. The samurai looks completely un-Samurai: badly cut, not combed. And in the town two organized criminal groups, created by local oligarchs from the persons under investigation and wanted, terrorize the inhabitants of the town, suffering cruelly from gang lawlessness. Showing great operational savvy and skillful sword work, alternately hired as a bodyguard to one and the other gang, the samurai skillfully reduces the population of freaks, at the same time solving his own problems.
