France, early 70s. Little Lucy, who has been missing for almost a year, is found wandering along a country road. The child is in a state of severe shock and cannot talk about what happened. A few years later, a girl with severe post-traumatic stress syndrome in the company of her friend breaks into the country house of a respectable middle-aged couple living with two teenage children.
