The desolate wastelands along the border between Mexico and the United States are a territory without rules, a battleground between Mexican drug cartels and American intelligence agencies. FBI agent Kate Maser, who works in the border areas, tries to adhere to their own ideals, although it begins to feel that the outcome of the war with drug trafficking is not in favor of the servants of the law.
One day she gets a chance to take part in the work of an elite anti-drug unit headed by Agent Matt Graver. The most mysterious member of the team is a local counselor, a man with no name, no habits, and seemingly no past. His true identity will be revealed only during a risky operation, during which Kate will be forced to compromise her own principles in order to stay alive.
