Philadelphia. Rocky Balboa is a young boxer, who lives in a run-down apartment and barely makes ends meet by collecting debts for his boss Tony Gazzo and occasionally fighting. Every dreary day is similar to the previous one, and there are no bright prospects. But one day luck finally smiles on him when he receives an unexpected offer to fight against the reigning champion Apollo Creed.
