In the 1990s Sonny Hayes was a rising star in Formula 1, but after a serious accident he retired from the sport. 30 years later, Sonny lives in a trailer and earns money by participating in various races and championships. One day he is approached by an old friend Ruben Cervantes, also a former racer and now the owner of an outsider racing team, with a request to join them as a co-pilot and mentor for a promising young rookie.

The movie is set in Salzburg, Austria, on the eve of World War II. A young girl named Maria, left an orphan, finds shelter in a convent and prepares to become a nun. However, due to her vivaciousness she succeeds with difficulty, and the abbess of the convent realizes that such a path is not for her young novice. Maria is offered a place as a governess in a family consisting of an army officer, a patriot of his fatherland, whose wife, the mother of his seven children, has recently died....

A mother, father and three children live in a house on the outskirts of town. The house is surrounded by a high fence, beyond which the children never go. They grow up, have fun, learn and play as their parents see fit, without any outside influence. They believe that the airplanes flying over them are toy airplanes and that "zombie" is the name of a yellow flower. Only Christina can enter the house from the outside world. In the company of the head of the household, she works as a security guard. She is invited in order for the son to fulfill his sexual needs with her help. The adult children know the family's main law: "you can't leave the house until your right fang falls out".

Slip, the leader of a group of school bullies who bully Bastian (the main character of the movie), steals a magical book "The Neverending Story" from the school library. Through the book, he gains power over Fantasyland. In the end, Fantasia turns into a realm of evil fantasies of a spoiled boy. The Lord of Fantasy asks Bastian to take the book away from Slip. Several fairy tale creatures are sent from the wonderful world of Fantasia to help Bastian in the real world.
