Starship Troopers 4K 1997
The 25th century. Democracy has been abolished and people live in an authoritarian world federation in which only those civil rights who commit to military service are granted. This is not the only reason why Rico (Casper van Dien), Diz (Dina Meyer), Carmen (Denise Richards) and Carl (Neil Patrick Harris) are drawn to the armed forces. She also lures adventure or simply the desire to stay close to her sweethearts.
In Paul Verhoeven's action-packed war satire Starship Troopers, four teenagers are drawn to the war against beetle aliens. But the supposed adventure becomes a bloody nightmare – now enjoy on 4k Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos!
It's hard to believe that Starship Troopers with its criticism of propaganda and totalitarianism was misunderstood by the US reviewers at the time. They let themselves be lured into the trap by the show values of the Riefenstahl look – basically like the young soldiers who storm their own doom with a great hurray.
One Eight Seven 4K 1997
From the criminal who has already been convicted to the schoolyard prostitute, everything is available that has little to do with learning. When one of the students murdered his colleague's dog, Trevor strikes back – and with it the brutal kids with their weapons...
One Eight Seven is something like the evil variant of Dangerous Minds and describes the classrooms of American high schools as theaters of war, like melting pots of different cultures that are already not friendly to each other and even less respectful of the teachers.
One Eight Seven is a 1997 drama by Kevin Reynolds starring Samuel L. Jackson, John Heard and Kelly Rowan. At the box office, Kevin Reynolds (Waterworld, Robin Hood) film was not exceptionally successful but was able to reach its audience on video. Extensively restored thriller from 1997 is now available on 4k Blu-ray & DTS 5.1.
Mission: Impossible 4K 1996
Jim Phelbs, head of the CIA's IMF (Impossible Missions Force), is commissioned to be there with his team when a traitor from the agency's ranks steals the so-called NOC list. This contains the aliases of all CIA agents working undercover in Eastern Europe. As the traitor wants to hand over the list to his buyer, both are arrested. But the elaborate plan to monitor and secure the list goes wrong ...
However, what the first part has in advance of the successors is the inimitable structure of suspense and tension. The logistical planning and (failed) implementation in Prague is already captivating but is even surpassed by the break-in into the Langley vault. The scene that has become a legend by now, in which Cruise penetrates from above into the room monitored by lasers, can hardly be missed in nail-biting fever.
Mission: Impossible is an agent film from 1996 by Brian De Palma with Tom Cruise, Jon Voight, and Emmanuelle Béart now on 4k Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos!
