The Empire has fallen, but its military leaders still control parts of the galaxy. The fledgling New Republic is trying to defend the ideals for which the rebels fought, and has enlisted Mandalorian Din Jarin, a renowned bounty hunter, and his young apprentice Grogu for the mission.
Tetsuro, a boy from a small town, finds himself in the heart of an ultra-modern city, where the “Megapolis” planetary station is located. The Galactic Express 999 departs from this station, and Tetsuro tries to board it. He steals a ticket, and a police force of mechanical people tries to catch him. Unexpectedly, Tetsuro is rescued by the mysterious Meitel, with whom he will travel on the express. The boy wants to take revenge on the robots—specifically Count Mecca—for the death of his mother, who was killed during a manhunt.

The 1970s, the coastal town of Guncheon. After deciding to salvage contraband from the seabed, a group of female divers soon attracts the attention of the local customs chief. He organizes a raid, during which a terrible accident occurs; the girls who are caught are sentenced to prison, and only Cho Chun-ja manages to escape. Two years later, while smuggling in Seoul, Chun-ja comes to the attention of an influential and dangerous rival—Sergeant Kwon—and makes him an offer he can’t refuse: to smuggle cargo not through the Port of Busan, but through Gangneung. But to do so, she’ll have to mend fences with her old crew, who are convinced that it was Chung-ja who ratted them out two years ago.
No one knows where Harry Maddox came from or what he did before he ended up in this backwater Texas town. But it’s quite clear that he’s just passing through and won’t be staying here long.
