A man heads to a sanatorium where his father is on his deathbed. The director of this strange facility explains to him that, depending on the relativity of time in which the patients exist, his father is dead to everyone else, but not to those who are here.

After taking on the image of an avatar, soldier Jake Sully becomes the leader of the Na'vi people and takes on a mission to protect his new friends from self-serving businessmen from Earth. Now he has someone to fight for - with Jake is his beautiful lover Neytiri. When the heavily armed Earthlings return to Pandora, Jake is ready to fight back.

In his film adaptation of the Marquis de Sade’s novel, Pasolini transposes the action to 1944–45, to the fascist “Republic of Salò” in northern Italy, where a group of high-society figures led by a prince humiliates, mocks, torments, and tortures young men and women gathered to satisfy the perverted elite, who sense their own impending doom. This ordeal lasts four months. For the adults, it is a final opportunity to satisfy their base instincts; for the young people, it is retribution for their youth and their desire to live.
