During a biotechnology conference taking place in a high-rise shopping center, an act of bioterrorism occurs—a dangerous virus breaks free and begins turning people into aggressive creatures. The authorities quarantine the skyscraper, and the few survivors must fend for themselves against the terrifying creatures, which possess a collective intelligence and are evolving at a terrifying rate.
