The Big Lebowski 4K 1998
We are in a film by Joel and Ethan Coen that is now available in 4K Ultra HD & DTS: X. John Goodman plays Walter Sobchak, a choleric Vietnam veteran. The best thing is how perfectly this absurd conglomerate works. And functioning here means being fully aware of the film and genre-historical conventions with the same tricks. With an overwhelming number of references from Chandler to Russ Meyer, Dali and Hitchcock to Mike Tyson and the Coens themselves, all Coen films' own humor creates the most absurd connections and transitions into nothing.
Clearly, one of the best films ever made. A classic. Alongside Donnie Darko and Pulp Fiction. The dude is authentic in his role and lives the serene life of a failure who knows what he wants: with pals bowling, drinking white Russian, smoking in the bath and doing taichi/gymnastics... But then he becomes a confusing criminal – a situation, where his serenity is put to the test.

Major League 4K 1989
The plot revolves around the team's new owner, Rachel Phelps (played by Margaret Whitton), who is determined to move the Indians to Miami for financial gain. In order to sabotage the team's performance and justify the relocation, Phelps assembles a roster of eccentric and untalented players, including the aging catcher Jake Taylor (played by Tom Berenger), the rebellious pitcher Ricky "Wild Thing" Vaughn (played by Charlie Sheen), and the arrogant third baseman Roger Dorn (played by Corbin Bernsen).
Despite their lack of chemistry and the odds stacked against them, the Indians begin to defy expectations and win games, much to Phelps' frustration. Along the way, they must contend with internal conflicts, rivalries with other teams, and personal struggles both on and off the field.
"Major League" is celebrated for its sharp wit, memorable characters, and hilarious moments, including Vaughn's iconic entrance to the song "Wild Thing" by The Troggs. The film's blend of comedy, romance, and underdog sports story has made it a beloved classic among audiences, spawning two sequels and cementing its place in the pantheon of sports cinema.
North Dallas Forty 4K 1979
Elliott, known for his rebellious attitude and disregard for authority, finds himself at odds with the team's management, led by the ruthless Coach B.A. Strothers (played by G.D. Spradlin) and the manipulative team owner, Conrad Hunter (played by Dabney Coleman). As Elliott struggles to maintain his performance on the field amidst injuries and personal conflicts, he also navigates the complex dynamics of friendship and betrayal within the locker room.
The film delves into the darker aspects of professional football, including the use of painkillers and steroids, the pressure to perform at any cost, and the exploitation of players by team owners and management. Through its unflinching portrayal of the brutality and corruption inherent in the sport, "North Dallas Forty" offers a searing critique of the American football industry and the sacrifices demanded of its athletes.
Nick Nolte delivers a powerhouse performance as Phil Elliott, capturing both the physicality of the game and the inner turmoil of his character. The supporting cast, including Mac Davis as quarterback Seth Maxwell and Charles Durning as the team's assistant coach, provide depth and authenticity to the film's portrayal of life in the NFL. With its blend of intense drama, biting satire, and compelling characters, "North Dallas Forty" remains a landmark film in the sports genre.
