Divided into four sections, "Song" is inspired by the Siberian and Finno-Ugric legends about Creation, in which the world begins with characters who are only half-human, one being half-bird, the other half-bear. The narrator delves into the origins of Hungarian culture, the Iranian and Turkish influences that impacted the society, and finally the story of Stephen, the emperor who brought Christianity to the country and shifted the capital west in an attempt to link with Europe.
Nino, an elderly art history professor, is still madly in love with his beautiful wife, Teresa, even after twenty years of marriage. But she is 18 years younger than him and dreams of László, the fiancé of their daughter, Lisa. Nino is tormented by jealousy, which only fuels his passion even more. But the doctor warns the professor that he has high blood pressure and that sex is contraindicated for him. So Nino and Teresa begin keeping diaries in which they record their most intimate thoughts and desires. The couple deliberately leaves the key to the desk in such a way that each can read the other’s diary. Upon learning that Teresa has become László’s lover, Nino blesses her. Sincerely grateful to her husband for his understanding and wisdom, Teresa gives him a stunning night of love.

The late years of the Ming dynasty in China. A scroll containing valuable martial arts secrets is stolen from the imperial library. A young sword master and his friend, their teacher, Japanese samurai, a secret Chinese sect, a tribe of fierce snake charmers, a rival martial arts school, and others join the fight for the scroll.
June 1972, Washington. At night, at the headquarters of the Democratic National Committee, police arrest a group of individuals who secretly entered the premises with listening devices. Washington Post journalists Bob Woodward and Carl Bernstein begin their own investigation, and it soon becomes clear that the threads of the crime lead to the White House.
