Branded as criminally insane and incarcerated for a murder he did not commit, Speight escapes from the asylum, determined to clear his name. Two seasoned Swedish detectives arrive in a tiny Norwegian town to help the inexperienced local police investigate the murder of a young woman. 1977. A widower and former research fellow arrives in Recife, where the carnival is taking place.
