Mission: Impossible II 4K 2000 poster
After Brian De Palma successfully delivered on the cult series ""Kobra, take over!"" in the movie houses world over four years earlier, in 2000 they switched to the Chinese action master John Woo (A Better Tomorrow, Bullet in the Head, Hard Boiled). Whereas Robert Towne had to write the script based on the action sequences already planned in detail by the director. These scenes were also the reason for some disagreement between Tom Cruise and John Woo as they wanted to realize their ideas about the action in the film.

When the film begins, IMF super-agent Ethan Hunt's (Tom Cruise) new mission leads him to Sidney after a flying visit to Seville. There he is said to be chasing away the ex IMF employee Ambrose (Dougray Scott) a deadly virus that he stole during a spectacular airplane robbery. The Patriot 4K 2000

The Patriot 4K 2000 poster
Another classic by Roland Emmerich, The Patriot is historical action drama from 2000 starring Mel Gibson, Heath Ledger and Joely Richardson.

In his movie, Emmerich offers a pompous, visually stunning experience, which thematizes the war of freedom of the young American nation against the Brits. As on July 4, 1776, the Americans declared their independence from the British crown, the colonialists wanted to keep their lands and the powers. A bitter fight begins...

Action, drama and the kind humor typical of Gibson – everything fits together perfectly. Historically correct or not – it doesn't really matter. Even if it doesn't, the entertainment factor of the film want suffer this. The story is thrilling and exciting, Gibson, and Jason Isaacs play their heroes and villains convincingly and understandably so that the work takes on almost epic proportions. All in all great epic with a dash of patriotism and in the end a little too lengthy, but still one of Emmerich's best films. Enjoy now on 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos!

Gladiator 4K 2000

Gladiator 4K 2000 poster
The year 180 AD: Emperor Marc Aurel practically defeated the last Germanic troops and thus achieved his goal. However, he is in poor health and has to think about a successor. Once General Maximus (Russell Crowe) was told streets were paved with gold. And it comes that he, as a gladiator, has to fight his way through arenas to avenge his archenemy Commodus (Joaquin Phoenix) for the murder of his family...

The screenplay was inspired through the ancient history collection 'Historia Augusta', which reports on the life of the Roman emperors. It also included the story of Commodus, who was strangled by a gladiator named Narcissus. This is the piece of Hollywood legacy that film makers would point to as an example of how well they were doing their jobs.

In 2000 Ridley Scott (Alien) remarkably revived this genre: monumental film. Awe-inspiring, truthful and epic, these are just 3 words that describe this epochal and highly emotional touch you are likely to perceive when watching. Everything sits just perfectly right here. This classic hit the cinemas with a proud budget of $ 103,000,000. Watch it now on 4K Blu-ray and DTS: X at home, grab'em all and you'll be covered!

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 4K 1999

Star Wars: Episode I - The Phantom Menace 4K 1999 poster
Star Wars Episode I The Phantom Menace 4K Blu-ray
For sixteen years the fans of the first three Star Wars episodes had to wait until director George Lucas finally got again his hand on the series in 1999 continued with this prequel. Words like nostalgia, warmth or character are a dime a dozen when it comes to the movies like this one.
Such prospects naturally do not leave a busy filmmaker like George Lucas alone, and so he embarked on the project of moving the six parts of his Star Wars saga into the new dimension and bringing them to the cinema again – starting by Star Wars: Episode 1 — The Phantom Menace.
Suffice it to say that Episode 1 is about young Anakin Skywalker (later Darth Vader - one of the most menacing movie villains). Jedi Knight Qui-Gon Jinn discovered this accidentally when he had to make an emergency landing on an abandoned desert planet during a mission with his student Obi-Wan Kenobi. The possible dangers of discovering Anakin Skywalker are only hinted at in this episode. His real change only begins gradually in Episode 2 - Attack of the Clones. Star Wars Episode 1 is often called too cheerful, too colorful and too family-friendly. In some cases there is something to be said about these claims.
This movie starring Liam Neeson, Ewan McGregor, and Natalie Portman is a must for Star Wars fans, for completeness alone. Nevertheless, the film is technically and visually not a hit. It is the only Star Wars film that is released for ages 6 and up and you can tell. Unfortunately.
Enjoy now without waiting in 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos!

Batman and Robin 4K 1997

Batman and Robin 4K 1997 poster
Batman & Robin is a 1997 fantasy film by Joel Schumacher starring George Clooney, Arnold Schwarzenegger, and Chris O'Donnell. In Batman & Robin, the two heroes have to take on three villains: Mr. Freeze, Poison Ivy, and Bane.

Of all the series, Batman & Robin offers the most balanced and neutral presentation when it comes to the newly mastered Blu-ray. It is neither too colorful nor too cool. Compared to the previous Blu-ray, which was significantly darker than 4k blu-ray in some settings, the lead is remarkably large. The old Blu-ray is far too yellowish and undifferentiated compared to facial settings. The sound in Dolby Atmos is also excellent.

Nevertheless, George Clooney is said to have said after the end of the filming that he believed that the film killed the franchise. At least for a few years, he was right.

Arnold Schwarzenegger had actually said during the filming of Terminator 2 – Day of Reckoning that he would never play a villain in a movie again. In Batman & Robin, he plays Mr. Freeze, who, obviously, is a villain. The reason for this could have been the fee. Schwarzenegger was paid $ 25 million. Not even George Clooney, who played the leading role, received so much.
