After years of silence, Godzilla reappears off the coast of Japan and destroys a fishing vessel. Fearing a new outbreak of rumors and panic, the Japanese authorities isolate the only surviving sailor, but after Godzilla attacks a Soviet nuclear submarine, it becomes pointless and dangerous to hide the truth.
