Rick Blaine, an American who has left his homeland and owns a gambling club in Casablanca, meets his beloved Ilsa, who left him several years ago and has come to the city with her husband, Victor Lazlo, an anti-fascist resistance fighter. The Germans are on their trail, and Ilsa tries to persuade Rick to give up important documents belonging to him, which will allow Victor to escape from Casablanca and continue the struggle.
