Master Ip Man is once again forced to put his wing chun to good use when a gangster group tries to take over the local school.

World War II is over, but China is still weak and poor. Ip Man opens a martial arts school, but winning a place in the sun is not easy - to avoid problems, Ip Man must first win the respect of other kung fu schools, and the chairman of the association, Hong Ip Man does not like Ip Man at first sight. In the meantime, the British presence in Hong Kong is growing, and some of them don't give a damn about Chinese traditions and customs.

Ip Man, a recognized kung fu master, lives in Foshan, a city famous for its martial arts schools. Ip Man practices Wing Chun and although he is the strongest fighter in the city, he does not have his own school and does not take students. At home, he only sparred lightly with his buddies. Years pass, China is invaded by the warlike Japanese, and Ip Man turns out to be one of the few who, even in the brutal conditions of occupation, does not forget about honor, dignity, and, of course, the wisdom of kung fu.
