By 2050, global economic upheaval has wiped out Cape Town’s middle class, leaving the city divided between the ultra-rich and the destitute. Ronald and his homeless friends uncover a plot by the local government to “eradicate” the homeless population using a sinister chemical known as “V.”

It all started when a liquor dealer began selling a brand of cognac called “Viper.” After that, some unpleasant incidents began to occur involving local lovers of hard liquor.

Her boyfriend was killed right in front of her in the car while they were watching a movie at an outdoor theater. Justice writes poetry and has shut herself off from the world behind a wall of grief. She works at a hair salon, and all her friends tell her she needs to move on. Giving in to the persuasion of one of them, she heads to Oakland with her and two other Black guys who work as mail carriers. After long arguments and bickering, she falls in love with one of them—both find in this a remedy for their bitter past.

An elderly man, barely breathing after being bitten by a strange plant, is brought to the hospital. While the doctors were trying to figure out what had happened, a worm crawled out of the already dead man and began to grow at an alarming rate. Meanwhile, the authorities declared the hospital a contaminated zone and ordered the military to place it under quarantine. Everyone in the hospital found themselves cut off from the world and locked in with the worm, which had already transformed into a huge, bloodthirsty insect. After responding to an emergency call at a hotel, a police inspector found no evidence of a crime but noticed some strange goings-on.
