Hannibal 4K 2001
A pretty solid sequel to "The Silence of the Lambs". The story as a whole is told quite neatly and is quite entertaining to look at, but it lacks that certain something that had made "The Silence of the Lambs" so special. Atmospheric, however, the film can fully convince and impresses above all with the detailed surroundings and great features. Actually, ""Hannibal"" is at a good level, although Julianne Moore copes well with her role as Clarice Starling, she can't match the class of Jodie Foster. Anthony Hopkin's appearance does not match the intensity of his previous role this time either, but this is less due to his performance (he has already shown how well he can play the role), but more to the somewhat simpler interpretation of his role. 4K Blu-ray and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit) available.
Black Hawk Down 4K 2001 EXTENDED
"Jerry Bruckheimer: Producer" - this combination of words delights the inclined friend of the entertaining action cinema, but leaves little hope for a war event – also based on real events – at least since Pearl Harbor. And not without reason: as a historically correct scenario, Black Hawk Down gets under your skin and knows how to shock. Simply put you gain fans by making a certain genre of movie. Stick to it, or lose fans. It’s really that simple. Ridley and Tony are forever tied to what made them. This insult is so retarded.
However, if you denounce useless patriotism, you shouldn't make your way to the cinema in the interests of others, because with this attitude even the sparingly sown Stars & Stripes banners become the proverbial thorn in the eye and the film which is anything but Pearl Harbor & Co. Now on 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos.
The Fast and the Furious 4K 2001
Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and Jordana Brewster in the 2001 version, as Cop Brian (Paul Walker) takes on Dominic (Vin Diesel), who not only fights illegal car races but is also behind his sophisticated raids with his racing cars.
The audience can expect a mix of unique stunts, special effects and innovative 3D projections that bring the film world to life. Together with drivers who test their limits, a completely new, memorable experience is created. The adrenaline-filled two-hour show, which combines daring with driving professionalism and precision, opens up a new dimension of entertainment. Gravity seems to be seriously questioned.
"Don't fly up" is the motto of Paul Walker being introduced into a group of car racing fanatics, led by the charismatic Dominic. This is like a sniper, when the job is done it leaves your jaw on the floor! You do join the ride, don't you!
Jurassic Park III 4K 2001
With all respect, if it happens that you beefed your scenario up to the maximum impact and it still doesn’t have that extra bit of mojo, then nothing else matters. Nothing but unused ideas from the first parts, such as the scene in the bird enclosure or the passage from the first book where the heroes are driving down a river and attacked a boat. The effects have developed a good 8 years after the first one and so there are the dinosaurs in rarely seen perfection. The park is no longer what it was.
Speaking of crashes: Jurassic Park 3 focuses even more than its predecessors on the most effective encounter between dinosaurs and humans or dinosaurs and dinosaurs. And the final result could not have been made better. You notice an A-Picture in B-Movie robe. What is not wrong are 4K Blu-ray and DTS: X!
Puccini: Tosca 4K 2001
Oper légère means a voice, a piano, an opera and provides an easy introduction to the work. Angela Gheorghiu not only presents all parts of an opera with a supple soprano, but she also explains the historical and musical connections to Giacomo Puccini's grandiose drama in a refreshingly relaxed manner sometimes not so casual.
Only the cretin claims that it is named after the perfume of the same name. ""With Tosca came tenderness,"" says the fragrance, the opera, however, is not only fatal for Tosca. This thriller is about power and violence, politics and private happiness, love, and death. Questions arise about the nature of people in extreme situations: How does the artist relate to reality? And how does society relate to art? Hardly any game is more closely interwoven with the unforgettable Maria Callas. ""Vissi d’arte, vissi d’amore"" - dedicated to the Assoluta.
A deadly game of beauty and power now on 4K Blu-ray and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1.
Lara Croft: Tomb Raider 4K 2001
Archaeologist Lara Croft discovers a mysterious watch that leads her on the trail of the “all-seeing eye”. However, the Illuminati secret society is simultaneously trying to seize world domination with its eyes. An adventurous odyssey begins.
Lara Croft Tomb Raider hit the bar as the highest-grossing movie in Hollywood history in the category action film with a female lead. Still, fellow actor Sigourney Weaver criticized Angelina Jolie's role violently: ""Big breasts, tight shorts and a gun in your hand are not enough to create a female hero."" Then again, those interested in such amusing in the first place usually know what they are after, rarely having trouble finding the right tool for the job...
Close but no cigar. Decent try at imitating a modern, ironic action-adventure à la Indiana Jones though. You see for yourself whether it is true or not – the film is now available on 4K Blu-ray and DTS-HD Master Audio 5.1 (48kHz, 24-bit)!
The Mummy Returns 4K 2001
A sequel of the box office hit Mummie from 2001 leaves nothing to be desired. Because Stephen Sommers follows the most serious law of all sequels: higher, faster, further! People, animals, sensations: The Mummy Returns is an overkill. It is pure, bombastic popcorn cinema, a special effects orgy in Schwarzenegger format. Much more than the predecessor, the film relies on the thrill of the optical effect, deliberately targeting the viewer's overstimulation.
If you liked the first film, you won't be disappointed here either. It is just as entertaining as its predecessor, it is funny, exciting and creepy at times. Nevertheless, a film that can be watched – now on 4K Blu-ray and DTS X with extra fun!
Charlies Angels 4K 2000
Opened without a parachute and let loose on humanity. Wherever the taste goes, they have long been there: Three investigators of very different origins investigate for the mysterious Charlie, who instructs them to find and free a kidnapped victim. At the same time, the three angels must also protect Charlie himself. If you could get a ticket to the place you wanna be, Charlie, where would you be now? It can not be a coincidence that so many of us are experiencing this right now!
"Another flick after an old television series", this sentence may have first occurred to many when the screen debut of the 70s cult series Three Angels for Charlie was looming. But that's not entirely true. Intelligent, lightning-fast and competent in all situations, the three angels do everything to solve the case and protect their boss. Despite all this, Charlies Angels have lived to tell the tale – now on 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos! May Charlie bestow his blessings on all those responsible for this wonderful entertainment!
American Psycho 4K 2000
In The Pianist, Roman Polanski created a scary atmosphere for two hours, a space of unscrupulous normality in which brutality had become the yardstick for all things. In Mary Harron's room, Patrick Bateman, a New York yuppie, moves from murder to murder.
His deeds, his sadistic desecrations, and murders, which Christian Bale celebrates with almost manic energy, naturally trigger horror in him too. But ultimately, fear and disgust always disappear after a bitter laugh. It turns Ellis’s angry accusation, which mythically exaggerates the accused, into a mocking reckoning with a culture that regards serial killings as fine art. Now on 4K Blu-ray and Dolby Atmos!
