A girl arrives in New Orleans to find her missing father, a Vietnam veteran. Asking for help from retired Marine scout and now unemployed sailor Chance Boudreaux, the girl learns that her father was a city beggar, and soon the police find his corpse in a burned-out warehouse. But Chance is sure that this is not an accident, and together with the girl organizes his own investigation.
Soon he learns about a gang that organizes safaris for the rich, where as game released live people - no one needs vagrants. The bandits don't need anyone to know about their activities. A merciless hunt begins for Chance and his girlfriend.
