In the summer of 1979, a few small-town teenagers shooting an amateur movie on a Super 8 camera witness a train wreck. And soon they begin to suspect that it wasn't just an accident. Strange disappearances and unexplained events begin to occur in the town, and the local sheriff tries to solve their mystery - something far more horrifying than anyone could have imagined.

Phoenix was born into a circus family. His father Orgo was a knife thrower and his mother Concha was an acrobat. One day a woman saw Orgo dating a young tattooed woman. In a fit of jealousy, Concha threw acid in her husband's face. In retaliation, he cut off both of his wife's hands and then slit his own throat.
