After a heavy downpour, mysterious flowers bloom all over San Francisco. Biologist Elizabeth Driscoll brings one home and soon notices that her buddy Jeffrey is acting strangely. Elizabeth turns to friend Matthew Bannell for advice and is surprised to learn that she's not the only one with this problem. It seems that a lot of people in town are starting to do things that are out of character.

Looking for ideas, Anthony McCoy, a young artist from Chicago, decides to research the history of the neighborhood he recently moved to with his girlfriend. The research introduces him to an elderly local who tells the guy about the infamous maniac Candyman, who kills those who say his name five times in front of a mirror. Inspired by the story, Anthony creates an exhibit for a show where a double murder occurs after closing time.

A bleak post-apocalyptic future. The ticks in this uncomplicated "horror story" are pronounced with the stress on the last syllable. Encephalitis ticks, for example. Without wasting time thinking about the plot, authenticity, drawing characters and other nonsense, the authors immediately take the bull by the tick. Here these nasty, bloodthirsty insects grow to gigantic size and start eating everything, multiplying at a frightening rate.

Jennifer, a young writer, arrives in a remote area away from big cities to write a new novel in a rented house. To avoid driving to get groceries, she orders from a store with courier delivery. Matthew, a mentally retarded guy, delivers her order, and when he gets back, he tells his buddies about Jennifer. They decide to take advantage of the situation - the girl is unlikely to be able to call for help and stand up for herself - and sneak into her house.

There are numerous murders of women. The maniac is known - it is a certain Eddie, who asks a pretty journalist Karen White to meet him. They meet, but at the sight of her interlocutor suddenly transforming into a horrible monster, Karen is frightened and calls for help. Eddie is killed by the police. After a nervous breakdown, Karen agrees to undergo treatment at Dr. Waggner's clinic. But gradually the woman begins to notice that some strange things are happening around her.

A few years after those bloody events, the blind old man has found peace and lives quietly with his teenage daughter named Phoenix. He shields the girl from the outside world in every possible way: he does not allow her to go to school and forces her to train in case of a new invasion. Although Phoenix is already starting to rebel, the old man turns out to be right - one night their house is attacked by armed bandits.

The year 2242. Earth is doomed. Among the 50 million chosen to fly to the new planet is the pregnant daughter of the ship's captain. Her boyfriend Noah is not on the list, so he has to trick his way aboard and pretend to be a janitor. While most of the passengers and crew are in anabiosis, Noah, in the company of his former partner Clay, goes about his daily routine and gets to know his colleagues. But soon an aggressive alien life form is discovered on board, threatening the very existence of humanity.

Going on vacation to a tropical island, a family with two children decides to follow the advice of the hotel manager and visit a beautiful secluded beach. Apart from them, there are other guests on the beach: a family with a young daughter, a middle-aged couple and a popular rapper. But soon the relaxed vacation is replaced by panic when the company discovers a dead body and notices that the children have suddenly begun to grow up very quickly.
