A story about the American rock band Pavement.

Master of ninjutsu Cho, nicknamed the Black Ninja, moves to the United States with his son and starts a new life after a group of ninjas kills almost all of his family members in Japan. Cho opens a toy store, unaware that his dishonest partner is smuggling heroin by stuffing it into dolls. The realization that his partner and friend has betrayed him is the last straw for the Black Ninja.

For $10,000, they break arms; for $20,000, they break legs. With a salary of $1,500, Axel Fried, a college literature professor, is $44,000 in debt.
