In 1879, the valiant British troops led by Lord Chelmsford advanced through South Africa to “settle the Zulu question once and for all.” The Zulu king, Ketshwayo, considered the British his allies, so their invasion of Zulu territory came as a complete surprise to the Africans. Then the Zulus attacked a large British force of 1,500 men and routed it; the bloody battle cost the lives of nearly all the British soldiers.

Matt and Jay, members of the Toronto-based duo “Nirvana Group,” have been trying unsuccessfully for 17 years to land a gig at the Rivoli Club. The musicians come up with yet another scheme: to pretend to be time travelers. However, the makeshift time machine they built out of a camper van unexpectedly turns out to work. So Matt and Jay find themselves back in 2008, and now they’re forced to find a way to return to their own time.

Jesse and the other toys adore their owner, Bonnie, who plays with them—unlike other children, who spend their time staring at the screens of their mobile devices. One day, the girl receives a Lilipad tablet as a gift, abandons her old toys, and makes virtual friends. When they invite her over, Jessie—convinced that friends should be made in real life—sets out to check out these new acquaintances, but due to a ridiculous accident, she ends up at a ranch where she was once another girl’s favorite toy. Meanwhile, a squad of Bazz Lighters from a crashed container follows the North Star to find their commander.
