New York, 1965. Spouses Guy and Rosemary Woodhouse move into the upscale Bramford house near Central Park. Guy, a not particularly successful actor, is starring mostly in commercials, while Rosemary is fixing up the house and thinking about having a baby. When suddenly, falling out of the window, dies a young neighbor, the couple begins to communicate with her guardians - an elderly couple Roman and Minnie Castevet. New acquaintances seem obsessive, and when suddenly Guy's career goes up, and Rosemary becomes pregnant, Minnie surrounds the girl with care and forces her to visit only the best, in her opinion, gynecologist.
