1986. The Smerl family, who live in Pennsylvania, buy an antique mirror for one of their daughters' confirmation. It is the very same mirror that caused Ed and Lorraine Warren to nearly lose their newborn daughter Judy 22 years ago. Now she has grown up and, having inherited her mother's gift of hearing and seeing the otherworldly, tries to ignore the increasingly frequent terrifying visions that come to her.
